Fairy Panel Quilts

I made these two quilts as Christmas gifts for my two Granddaughters in 2022

I had a quote to quilt them for $300.00.

So decided to purhase a 6 x 10 inch

Dime Monster Magnetic Hoop,to use with my

Brother Quattro Innovis embroidery machine.

I purchased an Edge to Edge design from Juju Designs called

"Heart's and Flowers"

I gridded my quilt into grids using white cotton the same size as my design.

Using the grid and a small ruler to measure from the sides of my cotton grid to the edge of my hoop to make sure that the design was correctly centered in the hoop, with my needle down at the starting point each time I moved the quilt.

I very much enjoyed using the magnetic hoop and am looking forward to finding other applications that I can use it for.

I added a two inch border around panel and then a 6 inch floral border.                      I used Matilda 60%/40% wool, polyester batting

with quilting cotton in the quilting sandwich

Panels are from the Micheal Miller Fairy collection.

FLAT FRONT SKIRT

This pattern comes from the blog

"Scattered Thought's Of a Crafty Mum"

The skirt is a very easy make.No pattern is required,

just cut out the different lengths of fabric,

follow the easy direction's and sew together.

Jamie has also many free clothing patterns on her blog.

Above head band was made following the below link.

I first hemmed the skirt

and used the stitching line as my guide

for laying the ribbon and then

used a decorative stitch from my machine.

Scrunchie was made following link below

but I sewed the two ends of the elastic together

instead of tying a knot.

BARCLAY VINTAGE APRON

I have never been much of a sewer and have only just started
out with a few quilts for the grand children,
so I decided to start this blog to show my journey,
as I branch out and try new patterns.
I made this little apron and chefs hat for my Granddaughter
Juniper 4th Birthday gift.
The pattern came from RubyJean's Closet on Etsy
and is called "Barclay Vintage Apron"
The chef's hat is a freebie from the website
"You Can Make This"

Autumns Apron

The apron is the Barklay Vintage Pattern
The little oven gloves were made using an
Brother embroidery machine,using a 5 x 7 hoop.
